Cyberpunk 2077 – Johnny Subtitles Stuck Bug

Cyberpunk 2077 Johnny Subtitles Stuck – Looks like some of Johnny Silverhand’s subtitles are stuck on a lot of people’s screens. This guide will show you how to solve the problem.

Subtitle Johnny is stuck with many players

What is the error in section?

It’s been almost a month since Cyberpunk 2077 came out, and I have to say it’s probably one of the hardest AAA launches I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s probably worse than having the hymn on your lips. I really don’t want to go back there. Because I’m sure the whole world knows what’s going on.

There are already a lot of bugs in the game, and there are more and more every day. But I’m talking more specifically about the Beetle with Johnny’s subtitles. The bug ensures that the subtitles of Johnny’s dialogs remain on the screen, even if they are not visible. Here’s the phrase Johnny used that most people noticed: Ha. House does the math. I wonder what the boss has to say about that.

Here is the correct description of the error by a user of the CDPR forum named /ma5ttias :

I have a mistake with Johnny. The inscription of his quote, as seen in the photograph, will not disappear. They stick to the screen and follow me. Every time I load a game or move fast, I hear the line of the voice repeat itself. This is causing problems, because it seems that when people call me, their first line is always muted thanks to Johnny’s line. Has anyone found a job to get rid of him?

I don’t want to go back, because I spent about 3 hours in the game before the mistake happened. I was trying to answer it. I tried to reboot the computer. Nothing seems to be working.

There are many comments in the mail from other actors who have the same problem. Here’s one from /Dartigore:

Hey, Johnny Silverhand’s line’s not coming through. I tried to reload the game, but as soon as I unlocked it, it said again and it crashed. Other subtitles from other conversations are just put over this.

The CDPR said they’ve already fixed most bugs with the latest patch v1.06. But either they didn’t seem to be telling the truth or they forgot. The bug would have occurred only a few days after the release of the game. I can only imagine how frustrating that is.

How to correct an error with Johnny Subtitle?

The good news is that there are already many solutions for this bug. And so far, they’ve worked for most of the players they’ve tried.

This correction was suggested by the CDPR /ma5ttias forum user himself. According to him, it’s enough to do the following

  1. Enter the sound and turn off all subtitles.
  2. Make a new backup.
  3. Get off yourself and start the rescue you just did.
  4. Turn on the subtitles.
  5. Delete again and reload the memory.
  6. And that’s all you have to do.

The second solution came from another user of the CDPR/Entropointforum:

What I did:
– Score loaded (with Johnny saying his sentence)
– Go to the next point of fast motion
– Fast motion to Calendron Street (the most southwestern point of Watson).

After the loading screen : Johnny said one more sentence, and now he’s gone.
Then I changed the location and saved the game.

I tested the solution by loading the old backup and reloading the new bug-free.
Johnny was quiet.

Of course you can wait until the CDPR releases an official patch. But given the seriousness of the current situation, I wouldn’t count on it. If you are satisfied with the fixes, please send us your comments below.
