What is the Iron Banner?
- Iron Banner is the Crucible event in Destiny 2 that lasts a week and offers unique rewards to its participants. You can read more information directly on Bungie.net.
- The game mode is a single control option – control all three areas and the hunt begins. The zones are locked for 15 seconds before going into standby mode.
- Unlike all other Crucible modes, power level matters. This means you have smaller contracts and take more damage if you are below your opponent’s strength level.
How long will the iron banner last?
Where can I find guards to play Iron Banner with?
- You can access Fireteams, www.The100.io, the Xbox LFG system, DestinyLFG.net or DestinyLFG.com, or the Bungie.net recruitment forum (also available through the Bungie app).
What if I have a question about another piece of armor/weapon or a general question about the Iron Ensign?
- Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F (or Command + F if you are using a Mac) and search for the keywords in your question. Someone may have already asked that question. If they haven’t asked for it directly.
Seasonal price
- Each season you can complete seasonal missions with Lord Saladin. After each stage of the quest, you will be rewarded with a suit of armor from the current season.
- Progression will carry over to subsequent Iron Banners in the same season, but quests will end at the end of the season.
How to earn iron banner coins
Completion of match:
- After completing the Crucible of the Iron Banner match, players will receive Iron Banner coins to give to Lord Saladin. Although all completed games of Iron Banner yield chips, there are more chips won than lost.
- If you win, you get 5 tokens.
- Losses are rewarded with 3 tokens.
Bonus of the week:
- Players can earn additional Iron Banner coins by completing the weekly Iron Banner coins. They can be made for any character.
- Weekly cash prize – 50 tokens
- Bounty also offers a piece of Pinnacle equipment each week.
- There are seven different weekly prizes, four of which are available for each IB. See the list below!
Available from Lord Saladin:
Lord Saladin will provide the Iron Banner. He appears in the tower, on the stairs to the right of the armourer, to bring the guards the iron banner, depending on the weapon and armour.
Faction Awards
Turn in 20 tokens to get an engram of the Iron Banner containing a randomly drawn weapon. If you complete the seasonal quest, you can also get a random rotating armor.

Extra rewards for iron banners
You will have a chance to win a randomly drawn iron banner at the end of the games. This includes all weapons and armor available for the current season.
