I’ve seen many videos that claim to show a SIMPLE way to dominate the bosses and drown them in dirty money. All you have to do is use that particular class and that set of inaccessible CWL mods and weapons that you can only get in the raid.
As a counterpoint, some very skilled players post videos with basic gear, like Harbinger with 80 points below level or with only blue gear. Watching Esoterickk single-handedly destroy raid bosses with a toothpick is fun and educational, but it doesn’t directly translate into anything I can do.
The basic problem is that my 50th birthday is coming up. I’ve never been this big before. I’ve been playing FPS games for 40 years (Battlezone counts!), and I’ve never been a hero.
I’m pretty good. Sometimes I can be wrong because I’m good at it. Sometimes I think I’m… a little clumsy.
The worst part is that I don’t even have enough fancy equipment. I played a lot for a few months when Destiny 2 came out, then stopped for about 3 years and started playing again in late December. Because of the sunset, the cheesiness, and the 2.0 vest, all my clothes were trash. I only have half of the CWL and WM mods left. I find that raids have an unfavorable stress-to-pleasure ratio, so I don’t do them.
I refuse to believe that I am the only one incapable of levity. So I decided to make videos showing how to make reasonably heavy content without special construction, expensive equipment, advanced skills or a fire crew. Remarkable:
- – Solo in one of the lost sectors on Legend difficulty.
- – Like a solo in an exotic xenophagous quest.
- – How to complete the Hawkmoon mission.
Popular streamers may put on fancy clothes, but they should not devalue their talent and skills. With my aging reflexes and indifferent talent, you can be sure that it is quite possible to follow in my footsteps.
The entire video was recorded in real time. I’ve never tried talking and playing at the same time before, and the results were what I expected ….. Sometimes the words don’t come out right, and where was I? But for the most part, the story is coherent and maybe even useful.
Q : Is D2MI right for me?
A : If you can skip lost sectors when the master is off, congratulations, you don’t need it. If you have trouble dealing with lost sectors on normal difficulty, you should probably start improving your skills. If you think the hardest part of Harbinger is the jumping, then you’re right in my target market.
Q : I’d love to give a sign, ring a bell, wax a turtle, etc.
A : No. It was fun, but I think I’m done for a while.
